Terra Charge, in partnership with the Airports Authority of India (AAI), has launched a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Raja Bhoj International Airport in Bhopal.

The opening ceremony took place on November 29, 2024, in the airport’s parking area, with key representatives from both Terra Charge and AAI in attendance.

The 75-square-metre hub, which is already operational, can charge up to four EVs at once. It features a slow charger powered by Japanese technology and a 30 kW fast charger, catering to the needs of both public and commercial vehicles. This initiative aims to expand the city’s EV infrastructure and make charging more convenient for local EV owners.

Apurba Das Mohapatra, Business Director of Terra Charge, spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of sustainable development. “At Terra Charge, we feel honoured to support AAI’s progressive vision by introducing advanced e-mobility solutions at a key location like the Bhopal airport.”

He also thanked AAI officials, including Ramjee Awasthi, Airport Director, K.P.S. Sikarwar, AGM Commercial, and Nidhi Shrivastava, Manager Commercial, for their support in making the project possible. Mohapatra expressed his confidence that the new hub would not only serve current EV owners but also encourage more people in Bhopal to make the switch to electric vehicles.

The new charging station can be easily located using the Terra Charge Mobile App. The company is also working on similar projects across India, aiming to grow the nation’s charging network as the EV market continues to expand. In 2024, India’s EV market is projected to reach USD 23.38 billion.
